The Outlast Trials best loadout depends on how you play, so this guide gives four sets, one per playstyle, with the rationale from the numbers on each amp and rig page. The tiers cited are the one current published list, GameRant's from 29 July 2026; the sets themselves are our reading of the sourced numbers, not a ranking.
How a loadout is built
You equip three amps, one from each of the tool, skill and medicine groups, plus one rig. The tool amps unlock at Therapy Levels 10, 25 and 40, the skill amps at 15, 30 and 45 and the medicine amps at 20, 35 and 50. Every amp costs 2 vouchers and every rig level costs 2 vouchers; see the vouchers guide for what you can afford.
Outlast Trials best loadout for solo play
- Rig: Jammer, ranked S. Its Pacemaker upgrade is one of the two revive tools Fandom names for solo runs, next to Self Revive.
- Medicine: Self Revive (A) or Last Chance (S), which leaves you on 1 HP instead of dying once every 5 minutes.
- Skill: Smash (S), which breaks doors and planks in one strike and bashes open co-op doors alone.
- Tool: Noise Reduction (S) for less noise when running and opening doors.
Stealth loadout
- Tool: Slippers or Noise Reduction.
- Skill: Invisible, which stops enemies finding you in a hiding spot, even when you peek out.
- Medicine: Incognito, 30% faster crouched walking.
- Rig: X-Ray, which shows enemies and teammates through walls.
Speed and escape loadout
- Skill: Quick Escape, a 10 second speed boost after damage, or Evasive Maneuver, which frees you from a grab and reduces damage.
- Tool: Backpack, one extra inventory slot.
- Medicine: Boosted (S), a random health, stamina or battery booster at the start of every trial.
- Rig: Stun, ranked S, a throwable shock device that stuns enemies.
Team support loadout
- Rig: Heal, ranked A, a healing gas for you and nearby friends.
- Medicine: Double Doses (C), which lets a syringe be used twice and a Respawn Pill revive twice.
- Skill: Hide and Restore, 50% faster rig cooldown recovery while in a hiding spot.
