The Outlast Trials Pouncer is a Specialist Ex-Pop who lurks in hiding spots and ambushes any Reagent who walks too close, then batters them until they push her off.

How the Pouncer ambushes in The Outlast Trials
She picks a hiding spot such as a closet, barrel, crate or car trunk and waits. If you pass close, she jumps out, tackles you and pounds you with her fists. You must mash to throw her off or she keeps hitting until your health is gone. She then limps off to another spot, or re-enters the same one.
How to avoid or counter the Pouncer
- Spot her before you reach her: the X-Ray rig shows her, you may see her peek out, and you can hear her voice nearby.
- A teammate can kick her off you at once if they are close.
- The Slide prescription lets you slide past her spot without triggering her, if the slide does not start or end inside her ambush range.
- Throwing a brick or bottle at her spot with the Anti-Ambush prescription makes her leave.
- Force her out with the Stun rig, a Blind rig mine another Ex-Pop triggers, the Heal rig's Poison upgrade, or the Jammer rig's Corrupt Enemies upgrade.
- The Last Chance amp counters the pounce.

- Mash the prompt to push her off. With a brick or bottle and the Self Defense Technique prescription you can smash it on her head to push her off without taking damage.
- Can the Pouncer leave the trial?
- In rare cases she flees to an Ex-Pop Insertion Gate and leaves for good if she cannot find a free hiding spot.
